A dual colored, 3d printed miniature model of Mt St Helens with a snow capped top. Measures appx 4” x .75” (appx 96mm x 18mm).
I was a Boy Scout on Sunday, May 18, 1980 when the volcano erupted. That morning, we had just returned to our home town of Battle Ground, WA from a camping trip on the south side of Mt St Helens near the Lewis River.
At the school, our parents were picking us up while we unloaded our gear. As we looked back toward the northeast, we could see the plumes going up. Although we were on the “non-blast” side, we were thankful to be safe & could have easily been among the 57 dead that day.
The following week, an inch of ash fell on our homes. This experience prompted me to create this small miniature of the mountain with my other 3d print adventures. I still hunt and hike the flanks of Mt St Helens over 40 years later.
The little model has topography elevation lines built in and a nice silvery finish with a snow colored top. Not painted - but dual colored during the print. It’s ready to paint - or just enjoy the way it is!
